elcome to the Language Learner Link Japanese course – an on-line course to get you up and running with enough competence in Japanese to fulfill your needs.

WARNING : the BASIC 初級 level course is almost complete with audio files uploaded. Work has not yet begun on the Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced courses. `Your patience please`.

No empty promises should be made, but I can say with confidence that a lot of effort and language-learning experience have gone into constructing a course that is practical and useful for the non-linguist who needs some Japanese quickly, so to speak. Having said that, if you are interested in the grammatical workings of the language and want to take your studies beyond survival Japanese, you also will find what you need right here.

The site is designed to be explored – sniff out what you need to know, use the search box and the different level categories and tags – and is full of real-life audio of ‘real’ Japanese people(!) speaking. There are also plans afoot to have video footage of different conversational situations, but first I have to find some willing actors!
